The Storm

She had consoled me That t’was fine to be Different, in my own way And I waited for the light of day. Slowly gathered the clouds of gloom, And flashed its portent of doom. As I ventured out of home, Amidst storm, I found myself alone. Rain blurred my eyes. Deluge washed away lies. Wind robbed my strength. Sans illusions, I faint.

The Single Frequency Radio

Hisss…pfft!!! The radio sprang to life, As his hands tinkered the switches, The indicator glowed and static noise flowed From the jet-black magnetic bullhorn. The dial turned, scanning horizons For floating messages. Verbal poison Or uttered nectar. The antenna, its mizzen Sending and receiving waves from infinity. Countless frequencies emerging from unity. Yet, a single forlorn frequency met The demands…

The Branson and Bezos Adventure

It’s a bird!…No, it’s a plane!…No, it’s Bezos and Branson in their game of one-upmanship of who would become the world’s first bonafide private astronaut (sounds a lot like private pilots). And, guess what? It is still not clear even after their respective successful flights. A lot of the controversy…

Animals as Non-Beings — Comparison Between Christianity and Buddhism

As per John 10:1–21, one of the duties of the good shepherd is to lay down his life for his flock ( John 10:11). But, more implicitly the passages from John 10:1–21 denotes the absolute ownership the shepherd has over his flock. The shepherd is the only route of salvation…

The Spirituous Moon

The moon shines. Its nocturnal glow Enchants the landscape With intemperance. Vinous gazes of people, Arrested by neon glimmer And electric witchcraft Shuns lunar allure.

Weekly newsletter of Avi — Issue #1

Juche is a word that is difficult to translate. The North-Korean word was made popular by Kim-il-Sung, the first supreme leader of North Korea. If the word is translated to its nearest English expression it would mean “self-reliance”. Juche is a complex word to translate because it is a complex political philosophy which is unique to North Korea. A blend of Marxism and Confucianism (inherited from the shared Chinese culture), it is also influenced by Japanese Imperialism and Korean nationalism.
